about

Written in 2008 in memory of singer Tim's childhood best friend, who passed away tragically in a car accident on March 1st 2008. Very rare version and we only put it up once a year because its really sad.

lyrics

But I'm convinced this heart of mine will break
Subjected to the elements its processed, its fake
Fossilized and buried, with years of abuse
Does time heal all wounds? Or is time just an excuse to feel alright?

Long long long ago, in a corner on his own
He's all dressed up in pastel colors convulsing by the phone
There sits a boy in consternation, the whole world seems a trick
His money will not get him far this act will never stick, he's the only one he fooled.

And we fooled ourselves so good.

Whenever it starts raining and I hear the sounds of innocence in passing I'm reminded of someone I used to know
And you've gone and forgiven, if I could do the same
My body would stop shaking, from shouldering the blame

Like anything I do even matters in the end
But for now I lay me down to sleep in dreamland I pretend
I saved someone from drowning, or falling to their death
I didn't know their name but they were human and that's just what you'd expect
And you'd be proud of me

And if I could manipulate the clock that's on my wall
I'd make it so you'd never suffer, not a little bit, no, not at all
I'd find a way to keep the darkness in the night
Fill your head with laughter as you slip away oh God I held you tight.

But not tight enough to save you.

So, how'd you find yourself?
Did it hurt you when you passed?
Did you see the ages unfold when your life had breathed its last?
These are all the questions I will ask you at the end
When you and I are constellations, burning out again

Breathe slow and calm your aching brain
Body broken on the wings of an angel, Gabriel saved you from the grave
Feels so wrong and I miss you, but don't worry I'm alright
Why do lights glow their brightest, right before they're about to die?

Wait for me there, eternal so you lie
The angels hold you singing
Forever, so you fly.
